Since Ubuntu 13.04 it's no longer possible to whitelist the application that don't have a Unity icon, so Nagstamon in tray icon mode doesn't work in Ubuntu 13.04.

Just use floating statusbar in the meantime...

Hi Henri,

Could you tell me if that means this is going to be fixed in a future version, please? Unity has been around for over two years. Nagstamon's appearance has always been problematic during that time (no offence).

Thanks!

Well, I think it is worth a try, but there not even an experimental implementation yet. Would be cool if it would be similar to an also not existing gnome-shell integration.

Latest Github commit 044900a supports Ubuntu AppIndicator on a very basic level. Let me know if that works at your desktops too.
Regards

It seems like it doesn't work with Ubuntu 13.10, which probably has a new unity version...

Did not test it yet - would be a good idea to do so...

Finally I tested it in a virtual machine, 64bit Ubuntu 13.10, and yes, it kind of worked. Not in floating statusbar mode but with Ubuntu AppIndicator mode that only works after installing the packacke python-appindicator... looks like this is not installed as default anymore. Done this you have a Nagstamon icon on top of your screen and the popup window seems to be OK.

Installing python-appindicator solved the issue for me, thanks very much, Henri, for testing this so quickly! Nagstamon is back and usable for me!
