Ubuntu Unity support #15
Comments
Just use floating statusbar in the meantime... |
Hi Henri, Could you tell me if that means this is going to be fixed in a future version, please? Unity has been around for over two years. Nagstamon's appearance has always been problematic during that time (no offence). Thanks! |
Well, I think it is worth a try, but there not even an experimental implementation yet. Would be cool if it would be similar to an also not existing gnome-shell integration. |
Latest Github commit 044900a supports Ubuntu AppIndicator on a very basic level. Let me know if that works at your desktops too. |
It seems like it doesn't work with Ubuntu 13.10, which probably has a new unity version... |
Did not test it yet - would be a good idea to do so... |
Finally I tested it in a virtual machine, 64bit Ubuntu 13.10, and yes, it kind of worked. Not in floating statusbar mode but with Ubuntu AppIndicator mode that only works after installing the packacke python-appindicator... looks like this is not installed as default anymore. Done this you have a Nagstamon icon on top of your screen and the popup window seems to be OK. |
Installing python-appindicator solved the issue for me, thanks very much, Henri, for testing this so quickly! Nagstamon is back and usable for me! |
Since Ubuntu 13.04 it's no longer possible to whitelist the application that don't have a Unity icon, so Nagstamon in tray icon mode doesn't work in Ubuntu 13.04.
