On windows, if we select the skip network list on start up and press the close button, the setting is not saved.

I am on hexchat 2.9.1 and it definitely doesn't work for me. I will try to debug and fix if possible.

I am not using portable mode and the program is anyway not installed in the Programs folder. I guess its time to fire up visual studios.

Also, which line in the config file relates to auto opening the server list?
Searching for tags like server, auto and list, I didn't find any setting that may correspond to the required option. May be that is the problem?

Ok, I do have it in the config and it is set to 0. So that would imply it is not saving the setting...
Is there a way to be sure that it is reading the config at %appdata%/HexChat ?

I do believe that this is a valid issue and needs to be reopened.

I had this issue as well, and after playing around, I discovered that it seems to be because I wasn't exiting xchat nicely and giving it a chance to save settings on close, instead just hitting windows logout. Just mentioning here, to see if maybe it's the same issue for you.
