going through the steps doesn't produce the app. #3

Expected Behavior

cloning and then npm install/run should show the app in it's basic form

Actual Behavior

cloning and then npm install/run results in dependency errors and unable to run a working environment.

Environment

OS: MAC onto IOS simulator
npm version: 3.9.3
React Native version: 0.41.2
