Is there any way one can donate via PayPal or Patreon?

Looks good to me. And thanks for giving that service a try. Anything to help avoid all the fees associated with other services. Please post on this thread (or wherever) about your experiences going forward and I'll try to relate that to other devs/creators.

Not sure if I can do anything about it.

In addition to PayPal, it's possible to connect Stripe account which I currently don't have. Liberapay mentions:

With Stripe your donors can pay by card or direct debit directly from the Liberapay website. (Direct debits are currently only supported from Euro bank accounts.)
