Context/Description

As a user, I want to be able to get suggestions while I search to quickly find relevant magazine content by typing a few characters, so I can efficiently find what I am looking for without having to type out the entire search query.

Acceptance Criteria

Non-functional AC:

  • A maximum of 6 autocomplete suggestions shall be displayed.
  • Using 2 characters in a keyword search shall trigger the autocomplete suggestions.
  • The autocomplete suggestions should accurately match the users input based on the relevant metadata keywords, titles, and tags.
  • The autocomplete suggestions should appear quickly as the user types, providing instantaneous feedback.
  • If possible, the autocomplete suggestions should prioritize displaying the most relevant and popular search queries based on user behavior to provide the most relevant content.
  • The autocomplete search function should work seamlessly across different browsers, devices, and screen sizes to maintain consistency and usability.

Out of scope

General search page improvements.

Note

  • Developers should try to re-use as much functionality as possible from the autocomplete general search.
