Joseph A. Corneli was born in Steven’s Point, Wisconsin, in 1979, and received the degree of Bachelor of Arts from New College of Florida in 2002. In 2013, is finalizing his Ph. D. at The Open University, UK (thesis: “Peer Produced Peer Learning: A mathematics case study”).
His interests include anthropology, computing, hacking in the good sense, philosophy, and metamathematics. He is a co-director of two non-profits, !PlanetMath.org, Ltd, and the Free Knowledge Institute. In 2003, he worked as a summer intern at Cycorp, Inc., he is currently employed as a Research Assistant in the DECIPHER European research project (working on a “Digital Environment for Cultural Interfaces; Promoting Heritage, Education and Research”).
