State of the Field

  • Many other packages that relate to eddy-covariance data. Does DYCO perform a unique function? Is it intended to be used alongside other packages? Independently? I would love a statement mapping out how/if it related to other eddy covariance packages.

To clarify how DYCO can be used, I restructured and reworded the README, the JOSS paper and all pages on the wiki, and also added new information.

Some examples, the text now specifically mentions:

  • DYCO is meant to assist current flux processing software in the calculation of fluxes for compounds with low SNR.
  • DYCO uses eddy covariance raw data files as input and produces lag-compensated raw data files as output.
  • As DYCO aims to complement current flux processing schemes, final lag-removed files are produced that can be directly used in current flux calculation software.
  • The flowchart for the DYCO processing chain now shows that eddy covariance raw data files are used as input files for DYCO. In addition, texts were updated accordingly.
  • In the README and in the paper, a unique features of DYCO are now listed, for example at the beginning of the README after In the context of current flux processing schemes, the unique features offered as part of the DYCO package include [...]
