August component doesn't create entities for locks with built-in doorbell #54348

The problem

I've got a couple of Yale Doorman L3 locks, available in HA through the excellent August component.

These locks have integrated doorbells, but these aren't available as entities. The August component page says that doorbells should be available, but I'm guessing there wasn't a combined lock/doorbell until the Yale Doorman L3...?

For the time being, I'm relying on doorbell push notifications from the August iOS application, but would much rather have the flexibility to handle these events myself in HA.

Ooops. Forgot to indicate that this is about the August integration when I created the issue (fixed now), so pinging you manually @bdraco (sorry!).

Sadly these are not supported. Mostly because I haven't had any luck getting one

Is this simply a matter of shopping issues across nation boundaries? :) If you'd want to, I'd be happy to go pick one up in the local hardware store, but we'd need to figure out how to deal with shipping/payment. Just let me know!

Maybe it needs a new issue but as it's about the doorman L3 and the August integration I just wanted to mention that August reports the L3 as unlocked when you lock it in secure (or secured away) mode.

I'm also very interested in this.
I did try to do my own reverse engineering using the information in this post: https://nolanbrown.medium.com/august-lock-rest-apis-the-basics-7ec7f31e7874

But I keep getting {"code":"Forbidden","message":"API key is not valid"}

Any one know how to get the API key?
