Tuya Camera has no video #58614

The problem

I have removed the old TuyaV2 from the vendor and upgraded to the included version in the beta release. The new version with camera support pulls in my camera and the settings entries. However there is no video feed in home assistant when i log into the tuya app i can see the video.

I have check and i can see nothing in the log related to this. I even restarted watch the log restart and then pulled the video feed up to the spinning screen and nothing in th elogs.

The broken image indicates that making a screenshot didn't succeed. That should be visible in the logs if that happens. Not having that, sounds a bit impossible to me to be honest :S

Hmm, we might have a different issue @ our hands in that case; Reason for that suspicion is that de preview image is actually taken/screenshotted from the stream 😬

Completing my information, this afternoon, when playing with the cams, the stream worked on my laptop! setup my lovelace and showing off to my wife..... Then i was not recieving any compliments but the usual vocals in my house: you better clean the house than playing with your gadgets. It didn;t work anymore. Since then only preview picture, no stream.
So maybe a (tuya) server issue?

Did the logger lines in yaml and rebooted... Stream works again.

That means Tuya isn't responding to opening the stream. This is out of reach for Home Assistant. The integration reaches out to the URL provided by Tuya. If that doesn't work at that moment in time, there is not much we can do.

Not sure why it doesn't open the stream as it works fine in the Tuya App.

Same here, I have a ptz camera from tuya, sometimes the video stream works and sometimes it keeps loading, while the screenshot actually updates(camera status)

Well when I press on reload the tuya plugin, the stream works again. Don't know for how long.

I allocated a stream url with https://developer.tuya.com/en/docs/cloud/2ccd66883c?id=Kam7q5a9ug8b1#title-1-Request%20parameter
for RTSPS.

I open the stream with ffplay.exe under windows and it works stable. But it is not psossible to close ffplay and restart the same URL again. And this is the issue we have with HA.

So we need to update the stream source every time if the stream worker tries to access the stream again.

Saw the intended fix. Nice job, hope it makes the cameras at least somewhat useful!

I got my doorbell camera working by adding the following service in the Cloud API: IoT Video Live Stream.
When i added that, it worked in my case. Not sure if this solves for other people but had the same issue before i added that service.
