The problem

Hi, I have a Shelly plus 2pm in cover mode and this mode doesn't create a cover in HA.

What version of Home Assistant Core has the issue?

core-2022.2.9

What was the last working version of Home Assistant Core?

What type of installation are you running?

Home Assistant OS

Integration causing the issue

Shelly

Example YAML snippet

Anything in the logs that might be useful for us?

I found nothing special/interesting in the log.

Additional information

As the device is very current, it might not be supported yet?
If any info/log/config is needed, I am glad to share!

Hey there @balloob, @bieniu, @thecode, @chemelli74, mind taking a look at this issue as it has been labeled with an integration (shelly) you are listed as a code owner for? Thanks!

Hi @Bascht74, cover mode was recently introduced via firmware update.
Unfortunately we didn't had yet the time to add it to this integration.

@chemelli74 Oh, I wasn't aware of this. I bought a plus 2PM, updated the firmware and the cover mode was just there similar to the Shelly 2.5. If this is brand new, no problem.

Should I close this issue as this is a feature request then or should I leave it open if you are already planing add the cover mode for the plus 2PM in the next release to avoid more issues about it and that you can get test feedback later?

I have started working on it, as @chemelli74 said we can't implement something when the firmware doesn't support it. The support for cover was just introduced and beta for next version is starting today so this won't be on the next week release.

@thecode OK then. And thx for working on it!

Hi @Bascht74 - why did you close this issue - or is there an issue on this feature somewhere else that I may subscribe to?

I received my Shelly 2 Plus today and am waiting for the integration as well...

@thecode Can I or we help you with it?

@eingemaischt This section is for issues only, see: https://github.com/home-assistant/core/issues/new/choose
Feature requests are here: https://community.home-assistant.io/c/feature-requests
... and @thecode said, they are already working on it, but there is no pull request yet you can subscribe to. I hope it will be in HA 2022.4 ...

Thank you @thecode ! This was really fast! I patched my docker home assistant - and it seems to work.

"seems" because the shelly firmware itself seems to have many bugs. My 3 covers seem to have saved wrong calibration data - and calibration itself does not really work.... But that's Allterco's problem. ;-)

This is why I waiting with the PR, current firmware still have few bugs, Try to disable ECO mode, for me it is working for now after disabling ECO mode, Shelly is working on a bugfix for that.

Yeah, but furthermore "Reverse Directions" does not work either with calibration, so I have to reattach the devices.... ;-)

Can you post back your firmware version? I will send this to Shelly

0.10.0-beta6 - I already opened a ticket there ( #S-22102054 ) and I'll send them an udp debug dump in a few minutes.

BTW: Increasing the idle-detection to 15W seems to help. Very strange, but ok....

I have the same problem

Updated to 2022.4 and I can use the cover functionality, However...
If I open the cover, the state goes to "opening" and once opened the state stays 'unavailable'. same applies for closing:
afbeelding

I did not calibrate the shelly, just used a fixed open and close time setting within the device.
Need me to open a new ticket?
