The problem

When using the Google Assistant integration (no nabu casa cloud) all synced entities appear twice if I share my home with my wife's (google) account. When I remove her account the double entities disappear, when adding here account again, all entities appear double again.

I have configured 100% according to the instructions here: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/google_assistant/

When not sharing my home with another google account there is nu issue, but ehhh, the wife doesn't agree with that workaround ;)

What version of Home Assistant Core has the issue?

core-2022.7.6

What was the last working version of Home Assistant Core?

none

What type of installation are you running?

Home Assistant OS

Integration causing the issue

Google assistant

Diagnostics information

I would's know how to diagnose this as there is nothing in the HA log.

Example YAML snippet

project_id: home-assistant-6f988
  service_account: !include home-assistant-6f988-6749727e3b63.json
  report_state: true
  expose_by_default: false
  entity_config:
    ## Woonkamer
    climate.esp_ir_01_woonkamer_ac:
      name: Airco
      room: Woonkamer
    light.woonkamer_booglamp:
      name: Boog lamp
      room: Woonkamer
    light.woonkamer_hue_bloom:
      name: Kast spot
      room: Woonkamer

Anything in the logs that might be useful for us?

No response

Hey there @home-assistant/cloud, mind taking a look at this issue as it has been labeled with an integration (google_assistant) you are listed as a code owner for? Thanks!

Maybe both of you have added homeassistant as a service in the home app? Only one of you need do that.

I believe this causes confusion:

https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/google_assistant/#allow-other-users

Step 6 has the person add the service to the second account but this should only be done if that user ISN'T part of the same 'home' in the assistant.

I have in fact done that, but did not connect the family member to HA in the google home app. Might that cause the issue? In that case this documentation is indeed very confusing.
So I should undo this in the google actions console?

It doesn't matter what you did in the action console. It does matter if you BOTH link the HA test app as a service. really step 6 is what you shouldn't do if you're part of the same home.

You are right.I followed instructions to the letter and so I have also done step 6. I have been experimenting so much to get this issue resolved, I was convinced her account was not linked, though in fact it was.

The documentation could do with some clearer instructions 🙃

Thanks for your help.
