Checklist

  • I have updated to the latest available Home Assistant version.
  • I have cleared the cache of my browser.
  • I have tried a different browser to see if it is related to my browser.

Describe the issue you are experiencing

Mainly this is not a bug, it's an enhancement.

Go to Dev tools -> Set state, type any entity_id into the "Entity" field - but put a leading whitespace:

And no entity is found.

I propose to remove leading whitespaces before search.

Why a whitespace can get there? Because sometimes people copy/paste an entity_id from somewhere and a whitespace may be copied too.

Describe the behavior you expected

Leading whitespaces are removed before search.
