DomT4 and the Homebrew maintainers have agreed that homebrew/autoupdate is a better fit for not being an official tap and has been moved back to his user account.

Documentation and code has been adjusted accordingly and it was added to the list of interesting taps.

👍🏻 As Mike says, discussed & agreed mutually. I consider the tap largely feature complete at this point without the need for a ton of ongoing development beyond style updates & slight functional tweaks where sensible. For better or worse that doesn't mesh with community expectations, so happy to save Homebrew the headache of answering for my slightly hands-off approach at this point.

Hope everything & everyone Homebrew is well. Strange being less involved these days sometimes 😄.

Dumbass question but what does this actually do? we can't do brew tap auto update on new installs?

@gh0sti https://github.com/DomT4/homebrew-autoupdate is no longer an "official" tap so we don't provide support for it, include it in the default manpage, etc. It still works the same as it did before 😁

Homebrew/brew#16822 Removed autoupdate from the official manpage.

Add that documentation back into README.md so the link isn't misleading.
It seems to render fine on github.com

@DomT4 I don't know if there was some other change to preserve the manpage documentation, but I don't see any PRs linked to here. Created DomT4/homebrew-autoupdate#134
