app cannot open whilst recording

Some of the apps wont open whilst recording. I think this is due to something in YouView that prevents the use of recording but I'm not sure why, doesn't make much sense. I wonder if there's a way to bypass this ?

Sorry, thought I'd replied. Are you using the Sony guide app to record or the YouView app? Have you got YouView at all enabled? Could you please post your logs using adb logcat?

No problem :) Yep, using the sony guide to record. YouView isn't enabled as such, when you click on it the set up screen is there ready. Is there a way to disable the app completely...I'll have a look in the app menu. I'll have a look at abd locat, not used before.

Just been into in built app menu and there is the option to force stop so I've done that. Not sure if there's a way to disable, no option in menu. I expect the files in the system are protected from a name change.

There is ways, but problem is if you fully disable it, the apps here wouldn't work any more as they simply use the YouView framework to load the correct apps. Without YouView, it wouldn't be possible at all.

Anyway, from what you're describing it sounds like a limitation built into YouView itself (whether that's on purpose or not). Regardless, I won't be able to find out without the logs.

I believe the limitation is built in, ie you cannot record and watch catchup at the same time, it is not a fault with your apps, that's just the way it operates. Nevertheless would you be able to see if it's possible to record and watch catchup at the same time?
