How to select from autocomplete once, instead of enter twice?

Currently, after typing in :w, it shows up a menu like this:

But what if I want to only save? I do not want all the options of wq, wNext, while...

Now I have to do ctrl-e to exit out of the menu, then hit enter. This results in more key strokes. Any way around this?

This is pretty similar to :bd which is to delete buffer. But instead it sprouts a bunch of stuff which isn't quite related.
