@igaldino First, your PR #374 was merged between 0.7.17 and 0.7.18, so I don't think the fix would be available in the version you have in F33. Second, I'll referring to the appstream.xml file, which is used by GNOME Software and Flatpak. See how flatpak shows it:

As it was very well explained in 2b4f436, localization strings with same content as original are being ignored and not added to the cache, which results in country-specific locales falling back to its main locale (e.g. 'pt_BR' falling back to 'pt').
appstream-glib 0.7.18 was released after the above commit being merged, but the issue persists: in my Brazilian Portuguese environment, I still see GNOME Boxes as "Caixas do GNOME", which is the European Portuguese localization. Already tried updating appstream cache, without success.
