User settings -> message-settings aren't saved

if I change the message settings in my personal profile, the settings aren't updated; Log shows no error.

Can you see a 'saved' response, after you press the save button ?

Yes, the response is there, and the select-fields are displaying the correct values. but if i change the page and return later to the settings-page the old values are displayed.

i'm not sure if this is relevant, but this specific installation was an upgrade from 0.20.1 to current beta
