Current Behavior

When I send a container full of split tiled windows to the scratchpad, and then show scratchpad, the windows have separated out of the container into individual floats.

Expected Behavior

The container should remain as it was when it was moved to scratchpad. Tabbed or stacked containers work as expected, but not split ones.

Reproduction Instructions

  1. Open three windows on a new workspace, in horizontal or vertical split formation.
  2. Focus the parent container of the three windows.
  3. Float the parent container.
  4. Send the parent container to scratchpad.
  5. Show the scratchpad.
  6. Observe that the windows are no longer all on the same scratchpad in a single container.

I don’t see a link to logs.i3wm.org. Did you follow https://i3wm.org/docs/debugging.html? (In case you actually provided a link to a logfile, please ignore me.)

This should be working per 45468a36

Can you describe the exact steps you did (the reproduction instructions in the original issue are pretty good but I can't reproduce with those)? With a script or as a sequence of i3 commands.
