Current Behavior

When i try use side panel, i3wm is breaking. When panel moving to top or bottom all is good. But with side panel...

Expected Behavior

Panel must work fine, in theory. But in practic, all is bad.

Reproduction Instructions

Use any panel, that supports side position, xfce4-panel, plasmashell, etc...

The issue is "tentatively accepted", meaning it might be merged if a reasonable patch is created and its additional complexity is deemed reasonable. However, I don't see much progress in the recent years.
