It seems that Amethyst crashes when display parameters change, eg. resolution change, connection to dock with external screen, sometimes coming back from sleep
in console I see 2 types of messages:
Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x000042f5a9078800
Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY

or

Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception Codes: EXC_I386_GPFLT
Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY
