Comments
so if i’m not mistaken, every user of this app needs to ping support for a token? that’s ridiculous |
Yes, it's ridiculous. But, that's how it works |
gotcha, updated the readme with a link to this issue |
Going to try this now (for another project). This is what I'm writing to yourfriends@medium.com (feel free to also try!): Title: API Token for Personal Publishing I would like to use markdown-to-medium (https://github.com/yoshuawuyts/markdown-to-medium) to publish my blog posts via the command line. I notice that I can no longer get an 3rd Party Authentication Token from the settings page, but have seen elsewhere that you may provide one for users who ask. Is it possible for me to get such a token for myself? |
This is the response that I received: Thanks for writing in. We recently identified a spam vector emanating from our API, and took immediate steps to mitigate that. In doing so, some existing systems were disrupted, and we apologize. In order to issue a token, we require the following elements on your account:
If you have problems with this, please take a look at the articles below:
Please let us know when you have completed these elements in order to receive your token. Thanks, User Services |
Looks like you can now self-generate this token in Medium settings under "Integration tokens" |
@ernsheong Took a look in the settings (https://medium.com/me/settings) - I don't have this setting. Can you link to the page that you saw it on? And maybe take a screenshot too? |
Thanks! That is there for me now, I'll see if this works. |
App isn't broken : mailing customer support will get you token. In the get token page, they recommend mailing their support. I did that, and they enabled integration tokens for me. So, app is still usable
