good morning
I do not mean I do not understand English (I used myself a French translator - English). I do not know if I'm in the right place! But I'll be even explain my problem and grieve if I am deceived me.
I installed Known, using the zip file on the withknown.com site.
I created a subdomain: http://lire.heindys.com.
I did very little handling:
1 / I use: MySQL
2 / I transferred the decompressed file by ftp.
and nothing else.
here are my two problems:
1 / I use facebook to Bridgy (I have not managed to create the apps), but Bridgy, does not recognize accents, replace me by: © Ã, §, è, Ã
2 / when I want to send invitations by email, my friends do not receive. I do not receive notifications in my email.
Thank you for reading and possibly your help.

Hi,

I suspect the accents issue is primarily a Bridgy issue (@snarfed, can you confirm?). When you visit your bridgy page what does the raw output of the webmention post look like?

Regarding emails, check that you've enabled emails on your admin settings page. You may also have to do some extra config depending on your host's configuration.

hmm, i don't actually see the bridgy problem yet. the bridgy comments here have lots of accents, for example: http://lire.heindys.com/2015/histoire-du-jour#comments

@heindys, do you maybe mean that you're having trouble adding accents in the posts you write? otherwise, could you send more details, and maybe an example link?

hello, thank you for your help.
1/ When I pass by bridgy and I view my plain text, it is at this point that my accents make this bizarre form of © Ã, §, è, Ã, so I delete my accents on my original text. This has the consequence: a difficult play to my contacts .... These strange accents also appear when I do a double space in my text on original.Et Known if my title has an accent Known simply removes the letter! Here is an example of the text bridgy produces and publishes and if I do not delete my accents:

"## Démonstration pour idno
1 min read
Démo pour les développer .Je suis navrée de ce problème ,
 j'ai vraiment des soucis !
(Originally published at: http://lire.heindys.com/2015/dmonstration-pour-idno)" .
My title is démonstration, "é" disappeared from the url Known.

2 // The email is enabled, what type of setup, I have affectuer with my host?
thank you again

Stripping from URL chars is normal (since the iconv translit stuff has its problems).

So, are you using bridgy to syndicate, or are we talking about comments back?

I received an email from my hosting provider, this is what he said: "You have attempted a mailing indicating the address roxana.dl@riseup.net as sending mail using a method that we do not allow not on Web4all accommodation (direct use sendmail or smtp localhost).
You have probably not chosen this mailing voluntarily but you need in the settings of your content management system (Joomla, Wordpress, SPIP, or other) to change the configuration for mail shipments, you must specify a sending mails via the use of the mail () function in php. "
What should I change? And in what file?
I'm really sorry to bother you.
thank you

Known allows you to set SMTP settings. Your host should be able to give you the correct outgoing SMTP settings - probably a hostname, username and password. This is something you might find in your host's documentation or control panel.

There's no need to change a file. Just click into "site configuration", then "email", and add the settings on the page.

Problem solved for the émail. For my weird accents I will contact Bridgy.
Thank you very much for taking the time to answer me.
