What you want IINA to do:
Support displaying subtitles while playing audio files.

What IINA does currently:

  • When Auto Load is set to Subtitles containing media filename IINA does not automatically load subtitle files associated with the audio file
  • IIINA allows the subtitle file to be manually loaded, but then does not display the subtitles

Why you think this should be added:
This request comes from the IINA Telegram channel.

Examples of other projects that have something similar:
This is supported by mpv. As a test I invoked mpv like this:

mpv --force-window --sub-auto=fuzzy Pack#2_Kit\ 1_Groove\ 1_180BPM.wav

And mpv displayed a black window and showed subtitles at the appropriate time.
