Sorry guys, don't have time to fork etc,
But here is a complete rewrite for performance issues including caching selectors etc.
Oh, also I added a new 'link' option, this just means that if the image is wrapped in a 'a' tag and you set link: true then we will apply the effect on the link becoming focused as well.
