pickColors needs to be reviewed.

First of all pickColors currently misbehaves.

Second the arguments should be reviewed, I feel there something better to do with them:
1- the number of color to be chosen (let's say 9 per default)
2- a color palette (to help selection)
3- the number of shades to be displayed.

Third the colors selected should be displayed.
