People would like to see if an observation is the first one of that taxon posted to iNaturalist. We discussed this in the 1/18/24 Web Circle meeting and decided to go ahead with an issue, but there'll have to be some hashing things out and design work.
On obs detail page, display a label that says "First on iNaturalist" if the observation represents the first observation of that taxon posted to iNaturalist, based on the observation's posted-on date and observation taxon. This should be fetched dynamically.
Clicking on the label should show a pop-up similar to establishment means and conservation status that says "This is the first known observation of this taxon posted to iNaturalist."
@abhasinat can you provide some design input re: label and placement?
Here's a first stab at critera we should use:
observation should be verifiable. RG might incentivize people to add unwarranted agreeing IDs
I think we should only go as high as genus at the start, but am open to going up to subfamily, since that's the maximum cutoff for RG
