Hey!

This project looks really good, but unfortunately VirusTotal detects it as Malicious:

Windows Defender also prevents from starting the installer.

I’m not really sure what to do about this. I don’t really know how virus detection works so I don’t know why it thinks the installer is malicious. I mean, it isn’t 😅. Also, I never had any trouble with Windows Defender during testing. Maybe I had it disabled somehow...? Again, I don't know what to do about this.

To be totally honest, I've posted this issue mainly for 2 reasons:

  • I wanted to have your opinion on that and have a confirmation that there is no problem with it. I didn't explicitly ask about it and I'm sorry about that.
  • I think having an issue pointing that out can be useful for future reference.

That said, I assume that it is a false positive. Otherwise, there would be more than just SecureAge that detects it.
