Atik apx60 - image size is unexpected #760

Describe the bug
When using the Atik apx60 camera I get a warning [WARNING] Image size is unexpected. Expecting 122189760 bytes but received 0 bytes. and no image.

To Reproduce
Exact steps to reproduce the behavior.

  1. Run driver
  2. Try capturing a frame
  3. See error
  4. Abort exposure otherwise it just hangs

Expected behavior
I'd expect to the the frame i just shot.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Kubuntu 22.04
  • KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.5
  • KDE Frameworks Version: 5.98.0
  • Qt Version: 5.15.3
  • Kernel Version: 5.15.0-52-generic (64-bit)

Could you please provide the version of the Atik driver? It is visible in the first lines of logs when the driver starts up (a line mentioning a dll version).

there's no mention of a driver version or dll in the log. i've just installed everything yesterday, indilib, gsc, kstars-bleeding.

I'm sorry for the lack of feedback, my daytime job has been quite heavy. There was a beta SDK published in April at Atik, I'll integrate it shortly (say, under two weeks from now probably).

Holidays now, at last. Beginning on this week I'll integrate SDK 2023.07.14 from Atik, and we'll take it from there.

Branch is uploading (slowly) now as I write, so if the build completes on the PR, this is possible. I might be able to test it tonight on the Horizon2, but that's quite uncertain.

you might wanna hold of a bit on that. i moved on to windows just to find the same problem.
after some back and forth emails with atik, me sending them logs, debug data and my personal findings, they realized it's a problem on their side and they're working on it. so... this issue should be on hold for a bit until they have an answer for me next week (a dev on their team has been assigned to work on this).

TLDR;
i've discovered this occurs only when the camera is connected through an usb hub. they say "certain usb3.0 hubs" after their own findings. they're working on it.

OK thanks for the information. In any case we had to upgrade the SDK before anything could be sent to Atik, so thanks a lot for getting in touch with them by yourself.
