Hi,

I recently got a SVBony SV305M Pro as a guiding cam. Had a SV905C before without any issues in combination with a SV405C.

But the new one i am having big issues getting it started up corrrectly. 9/10 times i see it in the indi control panel, but upon pressing the connect button all I get is an error message saying "SVB ERROR INVALID INDEX".

I either have to restart the Raspberry many times and / or disconnect/reconnect the camera to get it finally running.

Using lsusb it shows up normally and also in the dmesg output i see no errors.

Google gives very few hints about it, only in combination with some other astro sw but there it seems to be driver related.

To Reproduce

  1. Start system

Expected behavior
Camera is started

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Stellarmate OS 1.8.0
  • Raspberry Pi 5
  • using Svbony CCD indi driver for both cameras

Turned out to be a hardware issue. Had some 5V backfeed from my mount to the Raspi which the SV305 does not seem to like, my SV905C is not affected by it.
But once I fixed that, the 305 works like a charm!
