base64 encoded image url as css background property is broken when added to index.html instead of scss file #338

What's the exact markup you use? Do you get the correct image opening the same HTML markup in browser? |
Here's the markup to reproduce the issue, and yes the below markup works fine when we open it directly in browser, but after Angular CLI processes this file it doesnt work, and Angular team says that they use

Testing with https://astexplorer.net/ doesn't reveal any parsing issue. What makes them think it's parse5 issue? I'm also not familiar how Angular uses the parser, so it would be nice to have a reproduction code snippet |

I have an Angular app and when I add below css class to my index.html file, the
parse5-html-rewriting-stream
used by Angular CLI removed this class and converts it to a random string:While running app in browser (
ng serve
) if I check the source code of the index.html it has below string:I reported this issue on Angular repository (angular/angular-cli#20422), they suggested to report the issue on this repo.
