If the first line of text is too long, it doesn't display

The following ink produces no output in the preview pane.

Removing a single character from this paragraph makes the text show up.

This doesn't seem to happen except on the first paragraph of the game!

MAC build - I've encountered this issue throughout my script, not just in the first paragraph. If a paragraph of text exceeds 243 characters without a line break, it does not appear in the preview pane. Here is an example excerpt below. If the follow_crystal_hall stitch is written as a single paragraph (exceeds 243 characters) it does not appear, but if it is written as two paragraphs (as shown below) it will appear. I've also included my numeric test to find out the character count to trigger the issue.

This happens on the Mac build only - the PC version does not exhibit this behavior.

You follow Crystal down the hallway and stop at a door on the very end. She taps one of the keycards on the sensor pad, opens the door a crack, then hands both keycards to you.

One year later, I’m also running into this problem (Linux, Inky 0.12.0), however, this is not limited to the first line, the long paragraph in the following example also is not visible:
