Good catch. Thanks.

range: from, "-", S, to.
@from: character.
@to: character.
So ["A"-"Z"] is a range, but ["A" - "Z"] is not?
Is that intentional, or am I misunderstanding something?

Oh, it's actually OK:
-character: -'"', dchar, -'"', S;
-"'", schar, -"'", S;
"#", hex, S.
