Also, I thought while we are at it, I would make a small logo for you in a few minutes. I can put a scaled down version in the README.md if you want. Ping me if you need the vector image as well.

Very cool! I like the second choice personally. Maybe @4ast has some input too? You could send a pull request with an update to the README.

@4ast yes, you can use it in README.md and also as an official logo for presentations or on the website etc. if you wish.

Looks good to me. I would say add both version 3 and 4 into an images/ directory under the top level, and put a link to version 4 (without the text) under the very first heading in the README.

Yes, good idea. I would put the version 4 image above the first heading in README though. Thats how I have seen it in other projects actually (pmu-tools etc.)
