Well, that's almost definitely it! Can you tell me where you saw that advice? You're the fourth person I find in the wild who has done that, and I'm really wondering who is going around telling folks to disable an essential Windows service. |
Hmm now im getting this when i just open the setup.exe, i dont even get to try and start installing it just immediately pops up. Was going to try and Redownload the setup.exe in case that changed anything but apparently the link is down for the Download on Itch.io so will have to wait till it comes back online lol just my luck. Also heres one place that says to change the Null Start Value https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2mb5kE6EKc theres also quite a few forums, videos, etc that say to change the Ndu Start Value in Registry EDIT: Ignore the top part i think it was Because the Host for the App Download was down that i was getting the error |
And yup it installed perfectly fine this time and now the App is Open. |
Yeah, timing! I just took care of that. Download it again won't change a thing though.
Ok, that entire video is exremely bad advice. Please also set Ndu back to what it was before. The only reason people think the advice in that video helps is because they end up rebooting - and applications tend to use less RAM when they've just started up (obviously)! Please set it back to the default values - for reference, here's how Null should look: |
Awesome, thanks for the update! Going to close this now and keep that thread bookmarked for next time ;) |
So i had some issues with the Itch.io App crashing when i tried to open it so i uninstalled it and downloaded the latest setup.exe for it and now when i try to install the App it keeps coming up with this error

Ive tried deleting the setup.exe and downloading it again from the itch.io site and still nothing.
And no i dont have any Antivirus software or firewall preventing it from downloading properly
