Hi thank you for your work, this launcher is very handy for seniors.

I would like to request a sos button in the top left corner. Which will call a custom set up contact, for example a family member or an ambulance.

Sharing my thoughts.. SOS triggers are a very relevant feature request but there are some practical challenges.

  1. Accidental Triggers
Relevant: HN - Android’s emergency call shortcut is flooding dispatchers with false calls

  2. Failing SOS
The main thing you want with SOS is total reliability. If there's no network or no account plan/credit, the SOS attempt to a contact will fail. In that case the user should be suggested to call the national emergency numbers as it may still go through. However, this can't be automatic since we can't assume the level of emergency.
The emergency numbers are different for each country and sometimes fire, police and ambulance numbers also are separate. So we need the user's location and intent. This is awkward.

This feature request isn't peak priority since with Elder Launcher a user can pin any of the many SOS apps on Google Play Store on their home screen that fit their requirements.
