Video skips forward 3-4 seconds

Hi,

I am running a self hosted instance of invidious. On one specific channel, so far, I've noticed that when I start to play the video, it looks like it is buffering, but then skips forward about 3-4 seconds every 15-20 seconds. This does not happen on all videos, just this specific channel so far that I've noticed.

My instance is running in docker on Ubuntu server
invidious version: 2023.12.18-97c4165 @ master
Browser is Firefox
OS: Windows 11

I have uBlock Origin extension installed, however, even disabling that for my self hosted instance does not fix the issue.

Are you sure it's not your keyboard or something that press the right arrow for skipping a few seconds?

Very odd bug I have never seen it in my life.

Could you check if you can reproduce the issue on another browser?

I can attest that this definitely is a bug. I haven't seen it in awhile but a couple weeks ago every single video I watched on yewtu.be was affected by this.

My hand is nowhere near the right arrow (I can record my hand too if you'd like :P, jk)

Interesting, I tried Brave and Edge and it does not happen in those browsers. I wonder if this is something Firefox specific.

I can confirm this issue happens on Firefox (no extensions) 122.0b6 with the current master version of invidious (1e6ec60). For me the issue only happens when usind DASH and only in 4k. Not all videos are affected and I tried reproducing the issue on other instances which worked fine for the particular video.

Visually, it looks like it looses a segment from the buffer and then skips to the next. When looking at network traffic I dont see any requests for buffer segments fail or anything suspicious.

The issue does not happen when using chromium.

@unixfox Awesome, that seemes to have fixed the isuse.
I verified that the viedeo is still a issue on my instance (after a reboot) and it was. After checking out your videojs8 update the issue doesn't happen anymore!
