Buffering is slow on some videos #57
Comments
The video appears to be working fine for me. Invidious does not serve the videos, instead it links to the files provided by Google. You may try lowering the preferred quality, otherwise there isn't much that can be done by the site to speed up buffering. |
It can't be sped up by using multiple connections to the server? Also, is DASH being used? If so, maybe you could add a preference to enable/disable it (if it is possible to do so). |
I don't quite understand. If the browser supports multiple connections to download media faster, then I should think that it would do that automatically. Invidious does not use DASH, it links the files provided by YouTube. |
I am writing regarding the player being used, not the browser being used. |
That's fair, the reason I mentioned it was because I don't see anything the player could be doing that would make it download videos slower. Unfortunately I don't know of any ways to speed up buffering. The media is being downloaded from Google so there's not much Invidious can do to speed up that process. I would be interested in seeing any other suggestions, otherwise I'm probably going to have to close this. |
It sometimes takes a while to fully buffer (which results in the loading circle appearing multiple times while watching it). The video it was happening on can be viewed by going to https://www.invidio.us/watch?v=pi47bBT4G9Q.
