It seems that svg renderer only creates labels for nodes, but not for edges

Indeed, there are currently no SVG label renderer. But this could be done in the future.

v2 does not render svg anymore. If you want interactive svg rendering, use d3. If you want static svg rendering, check graphology-svg.
