Compatibility with PHP7

This package is not compatible with PHP7 (mainly it is due to changes in MySQLi). Are there any efforts to make a compatible version?

Yes, but not in this form.

First this library needs to use jasny/db as it's basis. It will still be possible to use the library in the current fashion, but it will also provide ORM functionality (without the use of an intermediate language).

However, if there are pull requests against v1 I will still accept them.
