Hi @jclehner,

I am trying to revert back to previous original firmware but the nmrpflash process is stuck at Uploading .img step. I waited around 30 mins but it didn't finish.

I haveNetgear R6220 Router which had R6220_V1.1.0.100_1.0.1 Firmware version. My WAN port is not working any more so i read that i can turn one of LAN port into WAN port. (LAN PORT is working as after plugging cable to it, the LED light turns on), hence i decided to flash firmware with DD-RWT.

I first flashed with factory-to-ddwrt.img successfully and then accidently also flashed it with r6220-webflash.bin file. Now i am facing problem accessing webUI. It is loading page very slowly so i am not able to do anything from UI so i decided to revert back the firmware and this is how i reached to your page.

As per your procedure,

  1. I have I have connected one RJ45 cable to LAN1 on router and other end on Laptop (Windows 10 Home)

  2. I Downloaded and installed npcap-1.60.exe and nmrpflash-0.9.16-win32.zip.

  3. Turned off the router.

  4. Ran below command and immediately turning on the router.

nmrpflash -vvv -B -m A0:60:91:05:43:F0 -i net23 -f R6220_V1.1.0.100_1.0.1.img

but as said it is stuck with below output.

file R6220_V1.1.0.100_1.0.1.img is of 27.9 MB

C:\Users\Lenovo\Downloads\nmrpflash-0.9.16-win32>nmrpflash -vvv -B -m A0:60:91:05:43:F0 -i net23 -f R6220_V1.1.0.100_1.0.1.img

I pressed ctrl+c here to cancel.

Same is happening even if i used factory-to-ddwrt.img file (24.7 MB)

nmrpflash -L output,

net25 192.168.41.43 c8:3d:d4:8f:ec:d7 (Wi-Fi)
net23 192.168.1.10 c8:5b:76:f4:a5:c3 (Ethernet)
Press any key to exit

Can you please help me on where is the issue and how can we fix this.

Faced few issues like below but was able to fixed after trying again. Mentioning them just for record purpose.

I. Below can be avoid if run nmrpflash command and turning router on almost together and after trying this for 1,2 times

C:\Users\Lenovo\Downloads\nmrpflash-0.9.16-win32>nmrpflash -B -m A0:60:91:05:43:F0 -i net23 -f R6220_V1.1.0.100_1.0.1.img
Waiting for Ethernet connection.
Failed to add IP address (state=3).

II. using -B and -m <MAC Address> as i got "No response after 60 seconds. Bailing out." once.

Thanks,

Please try running it without -B, but keep the -m <MAC Address> argument. Does that change anything?

Hi, I am facing the same issue at the moment. Is it OK if I can add to this thread or do I need to start another one?

  1. Without - B
    Waiting for Ethernet connection.
    Advertising 192.168.1.1 to interface net17
Advertising NMRP server on network ... |
No response after 60 seconds. Bailing out.

  2. At one point, the file did get uploaded properly, but then the return message was just an 'OK'. I waited a few minutes, rebooted the device. The power led stayed on without restarting this time (that was the symptom of the bricking), but there was nothing else. I couldn't access the GUI, the designated router IP (192.168.1.1) or do anything further. So I reset the device, power cycled it, and tried the step again, but this time the file upload goes on seemingly forever (with the spinning '/' symbol going very slowly.

Hope you can help out here. You are already doing great work with the tool you have put out. Appreciate it a lot.

Much Thanks.

Hi, please try the attached version instead, and post the output.

nmrpflash-0.9.17-rc1-win32.zip

I tried this step and left the PC. Even after an over night leaving of the PC, this is what I got.

C:\Users\usert\Downloads\flash tool>nmrpflash -i net17 -f R6220-V1.1.0.114_1.0.1.img -m b0:39:56:5E:8a:30 -A 192.168.1.20 -a 192.168.1.1 -B

Please advise on how this can be taken forward.
