I'd say having a licence is a good idea, you can find one here: https://choosealicense.com/.

Some good suggestions would be:

• AGPL: https://choosealicense.com/licenses/agpl-3.0/ - Open and very copy-left. It makes sure that people keep the code for this project open source no matter what.
• Apache-2.0: https://choosealicense.com/licenses/apache-2.0/ - Simpler license which aims to keeps updates to the code open whiles allowing it to still be used commercially.
• MIT: https://choosealicense.com/licenses/mit/ - Very lenient with little to no conditions, works great dual-licensed with Apache-2.0 or even as a stand-alone license when you just want people to have your project.

If not one of them then any license you like will do! It's nice to know where and how a project can be used.
