That's indeed something that's in others implementations!

That's not a complex feature, but I've no time this week to look at that.
In the meantime, feel free to give it a shot.

I'll welcome any pull request for improvement.

Glad to hear its something you want to implement. I will likely not have time in the near term to do this. I am planning on using file-watcher to keep some files in sync to get around oddities in vagrant VM behavior when using a shared folder. If we end up needing it, I might then give it a shot.
