Do we need something like this? It would be a thin wrapper for cmtk.reformatx.

there might be a generic xformimage akin to xformpoints

idea might be to use getformatreader to establish the class of an object on disk. If it is an image format we can then use call xformimage and that in turn can figure out if the registration is a cmtk.

xform.character would also need to figure out (or be told) what an appropriate output name/location for the transformed file would be.
