I am not looking to do a full podcast, but I may want to attach an audio file, photograph, PDF, or other to a post at some point. Does this plugin support includes?

No, this plugin does not support includes.

Aside from podcasts (which would really benefit from more features than what this plugin currently supports), what is the use-case for includes? What feed readers support them? What feeds publish them? Why not just use a link in the post content?
