Episodes metadata only filled on manual "identify"

using:

• jellyfin linuxserver docker nightly (with jellyfin-server 20201223.3-unstable)
• tvdb plugin 2.0.0.0

when:

• adding new shows
• adding new episodes in existing shows
• replacing episode in existing shows

result:
Shows metadata and poster displays correctly, but no episodes metadata get filled. it displays filename instead.
Refresh metadata doesn't work. the problem persists.

It works only by doing manual Identify, everything filled and displays correctly.

Confirmed same behavior on Windows 10 x64 tvdb plugin 2.0.0.0 Jellyfin 10.7 RC2.
In my test tvdb plugin 1.0.0.0 also appears to suffer the same issue.

to reproduce add new media and either scan or search missing metadata.

The correct image is pulled from TheTVDB however other metadata such as title, overview, and external IDs are not updated.
