Hej there,
even with this settings I'm not able to connect my BB10 to Baikal. Do you have another tip for me?

Make sure you have SSL enabled, host without protocol and you use basic not digest authentication.

I've still have a problem to connect to baikal (BB Z10). I don't set a protocol (only server). What do you with "use basic not digest authentication."?

@ParoTheParrot: If you install Baikal the first time, you can select wheter to use "basic" or "digest" authentication mechanism. By default, Baikal will be installed with "digest" authentication but BlackBerry OS10 is using "basic" authentication. So you need to change the authentication mechanism to "basic" in Baikal. Either by reinstalling it or by using the web admin configuration interface.

Okay, I've added a note to the BlackBerry OS10 instructions that basic authentication is required.

ok thanks! Found and set!
"* Its required to use SSL for CardDAV!" means, that I need a SSL certificate for my server? 8-|

@ParoTheParrot Yep, you need a SSL certificate for the server Baikal is running on.

@janpieper janpiper Can you share your config and server version where CardDav works with Z10? I really appreciate thanks. I can't make it work in my Z10 10.2.1.537

@hzapa Sorry for taking so long to answer. I was using Baikal to understand how CardDAV and CalDAV are working. I am not using it anymore. Instead I am using some components, Baikal is using internally. You aren't the first one who contacts me to get help...

  1. Is your server using a secure SSL connection? SSL is required for CardDAV.
  2. BlackBerry OS requires "Basic Authentication" as authentication mechanism.

These two things helped most of the people who contacted me. If these preconditions are met by your server, please check the communication between the device and the server. Check the logs etc. to get more information about what is happening.
