Admittedly, the Image: namespace prefix is a legacy synonym (the norm now is File:, which pandoc supports), it's still nonetheless very much in use (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Images).

Since Image: is a still standardly supported by Mediawiki, it seems the Pandoc reader might also want to support it?
