Could not open books with Kobo 2.5.1 #38
Comments
After my previous experience with the Kobo Glo update I decided I would never again connect it via the Kobo software or upgrade the firmware, unless something is broken! |
Now I gave it another test. I just downgraded my Kobo Glo back to 2.4,0 (the FW I had before). Now I am not getting the error mentioned in my first post anymore. But now the Kobo freezes with a blank screen when opening the ebook. I do remember that I updated to Calibre plugin from 1.2.5 to 1.2.7 few days before. So something must be wrong with the plugin. Because when I disable the "Extended Features" everything works fine. |
Please provide the debug log (details in the README) and if possible a link to the unmodified ePub file. |
I'm going to close this for now, if you upgrade to the latest firmware and still have the same issue, post your debug log and re-open this. |
Hey ... it's me again. As I updated my Calibre (0.9.30), Kobo Glo (2.5.2) and your Extended Driver (1.3.2.) I am facing this issue again. So here is the debug log: calibre 0.9.30 isfrozen: True is64bit: False |
There's no exception in this log, so the conversion and transfer didn't fail badly. Are you able to post a link to the book? Either the original ePub or the converted KePub should be fine. |
Thanks for your reply again. But for now my problem is solved. I found a hint by someone with similar problems. He recommended to do a factory reset on Kobo Glo. I did reset my device and the error is gone. So you could leave this issue closed. ;) |
Hi there,
I did update my Kobo Glo to 2.5.1 a few days ago. I am using your extenden Kobo driver (1.2.7) with Calibre 0.9.28. If I send a book to the reader, everything works fine on Calibre-side. The *.kepub file is placed on the readers storage. But if I try to open the book on Kobo Glo I am getting an error ("Oops! This document couldn't be opened - There might be a problem with the file..."). Do you know a fix for this issue?
Best regards,
SlimShady0208
