Embed diagrams stored in GitLab to Confluence DC

"We’re trying to embed a drawio file, which is located in a GitLab repository to our projects confluence page. Unfortunately, I cannot do this right out of the “Embed draw.io Diagram” Macro..."

We don’t currently support authentication headers when embedding from Gitlab into Confluence DC.
The following error shows: "Diagram not found or cannot be accessed. Please check the specified URL"

Thanks for the request, but given Atlassian's intention to move DC users to cloud, there's a relatively high barrier for new features and this falls below that.
