Personally, I'm not a fan of exercise 2.7.1, for one because you have to scroll back a chapter, but moreover because the answers are fairly monotonous (that is to say, only two different answers are given in the solutions, the others referring back to either of those two).
If you do keep it around, you should look into how it can be that in the appendix, 2.7.1 has answers given for (a) to (f), while exercise 1.7.1 itself goes from (a) to (e).
